Nissan Issues Recall for 440,000+ Vehicles: See Which Models Are Affected
Nissan has issued a recall for over 440,000 vehicles due to a manufacturing defect that could cause engine failure.
The recall, listed as 25V437, affects several popular models including the 2021–2024 Nissan Rogue, 2019–2020 Altima, 2019–2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55. These vehicles are equipped with either a 1.5L 3-cylinder or 2.0L 4-cylinder variable compression turbo engine.
According to Nissan's statement on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, the issue stems from defective engine bearings, which may lead to engine failure and loss of power—posing a serious risk of crash.

Nissan’s Repair Strategy for Affected Vehicles
Nissan has announced that dealers will begin by inspecting the engine oil pan for signs of metal debris. If debris is found, the engine will be repaired or replaced at no cost to the owner.
For vehicles equipped with the 3-cylinder 1.5L VC-Turbo engine, if no debris is detected, dealers will:
-
Replace the oil pan gasket
-
Refill with fresh engine oil
-
Reprogram the engine control module (ECM)
For vehicles with the 4-cylinder 2.0L VC-Turbo engine, if the inspection is clear, dealers will replace the engine oil as a precautionary measure.
This proactive approach ensures each affected vehicle is properly assessed and restored to a safe operating condition.
