General Motors Recalls Over 62,000 Chevy Silverado Trucks Over Fire Risk: Full List of Impacted Models
General Motors (GM) has issued a safety recall for over 62,000 Chevrolet Silverado trucks due to a brake pressure sensor issue that could lead to electrical short circuits and potential fires.
The recall affects Chevy Silverado 4500 HD, 5500 HD, and 6500 HD models manufactured between 2019 and 2024.
What’s the Problem?
According to GM’s statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the issue involves the brake pressure sensor assembly, which may leak brake fluid into the switch and cause an electrical short circuit. This can result in overheating, posing a fire risk whether the vehicle is parked or moving.
